Service Leadership Engagement Program (SLEP)
The Service Leadership Engagement Program (SLEP) at Midwest University provides students with practical opportunities to develop leadership through service and community engagement. Through hands-on service, reflection, and supervisor guidance, students connect academic learning with practical leadership experience while developing responsibility, teamwork, character, and servant leadership.
Students participate in approved service activities through five service tracks: Community Service, Campus Service, Church & Chapel Service, Global Leadership Service, and Leadership & Character Service.
SLEP is a required, 0-credit, Pass/No Pass program for the applicable Bachelor¡¯s, Master¡¯s, and Doctoral degree programs. Students must complete the required service hours, obtain supervisor verification, complete the SLEP Report and Student Reflection, and receive a Pass each required semester in order to satisfy the SLEP graduation requirement.
Detailed requirements, approved service tracks, evaluation procedures, and submission guidelines are provided in the SLEP Program Manual and course syllabus.
